The Austin Chamber of Commerce has published its Regional Education Outcomes Report at the annual State of Talent and Education event. The report presents 10 key indicators to assess educational progress throughout Central Texas, following students from early childhood through their entry into the workforce.
According to the Chamber, the aim is to provide a comprehensive look at how the education system prepares students for life and work. “Education is the foundation of economic mobility—and ultimately, of our region’s continued prosperity. When students succeed, businesses thrive. The Austin Chamber is committed to working with our partners to ensure that Central Texas develops a robust talent pipeline, prepared for the opportunities of tomorrow,” stated a spokesperson.
The Chamber collaborated with E3 Alliance in identifying these indicators. E3 Alliance has been recognized for its work in education data analysis for almost 20 years.
The report seeks to make educational data accessible and useful for business leaders, educators, policymakers, and community organizations so they can collectively improve student outcomes. “By making this education data visible, clear, and actionable, we empower business leaders, educators, policymakers, and community partners to take collective responsibility for improving student outcomes,” said the organization.
The indicators cover three main stages in a student’s journey: early childhood through college completion and career readiness. The Chamber emphasized its commitment to using this information as a tool for driving improvement across Central Texas’ talent development efforts. “Education is everyone’s business. The Austin Chamber is committed to using this data to drive results, align community partners, and strengthen our region’s talent pipeline. Our goal is simple: ensure that every student in Central Texas can access a high-quality education that prepares them with the skills to be successful in their career.”
Describing the report as more than just an overview of current conditions, the Chamber noted it serves as guidance for future decisions within regional education policy and workforce preparation initiatives. “The Regional Education Outcomes Report is more than a snapshot—it’s a roadmap for action. Together, we can use this data to guide decisions, close opportunity gaps, and build a stronger future.”
