A historic ranch in Bosque County, Texas, once owned by Texas Ranger Buck Barry, has been purchased by Bobby Patton, a part owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Two Rivers Ranch was listed for $21 million and covers more than 910 acres across several parcels.
The property’s seller was Darren Blanton, a Republican donor who has also supported video platform Rumble alongside Peter Thiel. The final sale price has not been disclosed. At its listing price, the ranch would be valued at approximately $23,073 per acre.
Buck Barry originally homesteaded the land in 1851. He served with the Texas Rangers during Texas’ period as an independent republic and later fought for the Confederacy in the Civil War. Barry lived on the property until his death in 1906 and is buried there.
The ranch features nearly 9,000 square feet of living space distributed among several residences, including a main house with four bedrooms spanning 3,500 square feet. Additional amenities include a manager’s house, stocked tanks, fenced pastures, a shooting range and what Don Bell of Icon Global described as a “full-service, world-class” roping arena. The listing was initially marketed to members of the National Cutting Horse Association.
Don Bell noted that Chris Kyle — veteran and author of “American Sniper” — participated in bronc riding at Tarleton State University in Stephenville and spent time at the ranch.
Patton is known for his investments in oil and gas as well as philanthropy through donations to organizations such as Texas Parks and Wildlife and the University of Texas. He also owns Metallic Cat — a horse featured on an episode of “Yellowstone.” Patton reportedly paid $14 million for Metallic Cat after winning rights to have it appear on the show at a charity auction.
Bell joined Icon Global after selling another notable property — Four Sixes Ranch — to Taylor Sheridan, creator of “Yellowstone.”
“This property has history going back to some of Texas’ earliest days,” said Bell.
