Governor Abbott appoints four to Texas Municipal Retirement System Board

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed four individuals to the Texas Municipal Retirement System Board of Trustees. Bryan Langley and Isaac Tawil will serve terms expiring on February 1, 2031, while Jaime Reyes, II and Pamela Williams will serve until February 1, 2027. The Board is responsible for overseeing the retirement benefit plan for eligible employees in more than 800 cities across Texas.

Bryan Langley, from Kyle, currently serves as the city manager for Kyle. He is a member of both the Texas City Management Association and the International City/County Management Association. Langley holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Texas, as well as a Master of Science in Accounting from The University of Texas at Dallas.

Isaac Tawil, from McAllen, is the city manager for McAllen and a member of the State Bar of Texas. Tawil earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UT Austin and a Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University.

Jaime Reyes, II, from Melissa, is the assistant fire chief for the City of Plano. He is affiliated with several organizations including the Plano Firefighters Association, Texas State Association of Firefighters, Texas Fire Chiefs Association, and International Association of Fire Chiefs. Reyes received a Bachelor of Science in Community Health from Texas A&M University and a Master of Public Administration/Emergency Management from Sam Houston State University.

Pamela Williams, from Hawley, serves as director of human resources for the City of Abilene. She is involved with the Texas Municipal Human Resource Association, International City/County Management Association, Society for Human Resource Management, and serves on the board of directors for United Way. Williams has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science from Abilene Christian University.
