Governor Abbott appoints Gilmore and Jordan to Texas Crime Stoppers Council

Governor Greg Abbott has announced the reappointment of Perry Gilmore, Ph.D., and the appointment of Jeff Jordan to the Texas Crime Stoppers Council. Their terms will run until September 1, 2029. The council is responsible for advising the Governor on crime stoppers programs across Texas and certifying local programs so they can receive reward payments or probation fees as outlined in the Code of Criminal Procedure.

Perry Gilmore, Ph.D., from Amarillo, serves as a part-time professional staff civilian and reserve police officer with the Amarillo Police Department. He brings 47 years of law enforcement experience to the council. Gilmore holds a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement from Sam Houston State University, a Master of Arts and a Master of Business Administration from West Texas State University, and a Doctorate in Psychology from Northcentral University.

Jeff Jordan, based in Kyle, is a sergeant with the Hays County Sheriff’s Office. He is involved with several organizations including the Fraternal Order of Police, Texas Municipal Police Association, Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas, Sheriff’s Association of Texas, Texas Crime Prevention Association, and the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals. Jordan also serves as executive director of the Hays County Crime Stoppers Association and chair of Hays County Brown Santa while volunteering for Sunshine Kids Hill Country Adventure. His educational background includes both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in History from Texas State University. He holds a Peace Officer License from Hays County Sheriff’s Academy as well as advanced certifications from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. Jordan was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps.
