Governor Greg Abbott has announced new leadership for the Budget and Policy staff within his office. The appointments come as the Office of Texas Governor Greg Abbott continues its work on issues such as job creation, economic opportunities, education, individual liberties, parental empowerment in schooling, and southern border security, according to its official website.

“These talented individuals have demonstrated their ability to deliver wins for the State of Texas,” said Governor Abbott. “Texans deserve leadership that will enhance their daily lives and safeguard the foundational truths that unite us as one. I have full faith that together, with this highly-skilled and qualified leadership team, Texas will remain the premier state for freedom and prosperity.”

Tabatha Vasquez has been named Senior Advisor to the Governor and will lead both Budget and Policy Teams. Vasquez previously served as Policy Director and Deputy Budget and Policy Director in the governor’s office. Her experience includes serving in various positions within the Texas Legislature, including Chief of Staff in the House and Legislative Director in the Senate. She is a board member of the Pink Granite Foundation and former President of Capitol Republican Women.

Cory Fish will serve as Policy Director. He was previously a Budget and Policy Advisor before becoming Deputy Policy Director. Prior to joining Governor Abbott’s office, Fish worked at a think tank in Austin, a trade association, and a non-profit law firm.

Fisher Reynolds has been appointed Budget Director. Before this role, he was Chief of Staff at the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) where he managed several initiatives for the organization. Reynolds also previously served as a Budget and Policy Advisor to Governor Abbott.

Danny Mittnacht is now Deputy Policy Director after joining Governor Abbott’s team during the 89th Legislative Session covering areas such as technology, cybersecurity, financial services, occupational licensing, and housing issues.

Jimmy Anderson will serve as Deputy Budget Director after working on tax and economic development matters in his previous advisory role with the governor’s office. He also held positions with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts.

The Office of Texas Governor Greg Abbott operates from its main offices in Austin at the State Insurance Building according to official sources. Since his election in 2014 Greg Abbott has led this executive branch agency which delivers statewide services across Texas and collaborates on economic expansion projects. The office received recognition when Greg Abbott was named among TIME’s 100 Most Influential People in 2024 according to official records.
