Governor Greg Abbott has announced a new group of appointments to several state councils and task forces, aiming to address a range of issues affecting Texans.
For the Farm and Ranch Lands Conservation Council, Abbott appointed Lindsey Gohlke and reappointed Romey Swanson. Their terms will run until February 1, 2031. The council is responsible for advising the Texas Farm and Ranch Lands Conservation Program on its administration and for selecting grant recipients.
Abbott also named Peter J. Holt as chair of the Governor’s Task Force on the Governance of Early Childhood Education and Care. In addition, he appointed Jeff Austin III, Leslie Callahan, Lori Gabbert Charney, Grant Coates, Reagan Curran, Tracy Hanson (Ed.D.), Marisela Nava, John “J.” Puckett, Jennifer Stockemer (Ph.D.), and Nancy Windham to serve on the task force until September 1, 2027. The purpose of this task force is to address challenges related to governance and operations in Texas’ early childhood education system.
Scott Charbonneau was appointed to the Texas Interagency Council for the Homeless. His term will last at the pleasure of the Governor. The council coordinates state resources and services aimed at addressing homelessness in Texas.
“These appointees are highly qualified individuals who will serve our state with dedication,” said Governor Abbott.
