Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Paloma Ahmadi to the Texas Southern University Board of Regents. Her term will run until February 1, 2029.

Ahmadi is currently the general counsel at Athena and serves as an advisor to WorkWhile. Her previous roles include senior legal positions at Brex Inc., Haynes and Boone LLP, and Major League Baseball. She also worked at Ahmad Zavitsanos Anaipakos and Kirkland Ellis LLP.

She is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the New York State Bar Association, and she holds inactive membership in the Washington D.C. Bar. In addition, Ahmadi is part of the Texas Workforce Investment Council and formerly served on the board for Dress for Success San Antonio.

Ahmadi earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard College and her Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School.
