Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Tonya Miller to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) for a term that will end on August 31, 2031. The TCEQ is responsible for protecting public health and natural resources in Texas while supporting sustainable economic development.

Tonya Miller is currently a director at the Texas Water Development Board. Her previous roles include vice president of wholesale power strategic projects and optimization at the Lower Colorado River Authority. She has also served as executive director of the Texas Solar Power Association, director of the Office of Air at TCEQ, public counsel and chief executive officer for the Office of Public Utility Counsel, assistant director and special counsel for the Radioactive Materials Division at TCEQ, and legislative liaison for TCEQ.

Miller is a member of the State Bar of Texas. She has been part of several boards, including serving as a former member of the Financial Research Institute Advisory Board and an ex-officio board member with both the Electric Reliability Council of Texas and the Texas Reliability Entity. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Juris Doctor from the University of South Dakota.
