Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Elizabeth Factor and reappointed Jelain Chubb to the Texas Historical Records Advisory Board. Factor’s term will end on February 1, 2027, while Chubb’s term is set to expire on February 1, 2029. The Board focuses on improving archival and records storage conditions in Texas and works to preserve permanent records that document the state’s history as a colony, province, republic, and state.

Elizabeth Factor, based in Austin, serves as director and executive vice president of IntraBio, Inc. She is affiliated with the New York State Bar Association and the Southern District of New York Federal District Court. Additionally, she volunteers with Scrivener Company. Factor holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Columbia University and a Juris Doctor from Yale Law School.

Jelain Chubb, also from Austin, is the director of the Archives and Information Services Division at the Texas State Library and Archives Commission and serves as Texas state archivist. She is recognized as a fellow of the Society of American Archivists and is involved with several professional organizations including the Council of State Archivists; National Association of Government Archives and Records Administrators; Society of Southwest Archivists; and the Texas State Historical Association. Chubb earned her Bachelor of Arts in History from the College of Charleston as well as two master’s degrees—one in Applied History with a specialization in Archival Administration and another in Library and Information Science—from the University of South Carolina.
