Governor Greg Abbott attended the grand opening of the Wells Fargo Las Colinas campus in Irving, Texas. The event included a ribbon cutting ceremony and a panel discussion featuring several prominent figures, including Wells Fargo CEO Charlie Scharf, Irving Mayor Rick Stopfer, and TV personality Mike Rowe.

During his remarks, Governor Abbott emphasized the role of financial institutions in supporting business growth in Texas. “The Texas economy is becoming more diversified to signify our might as a financial capital,” said Governor Abbott. “To make sure it stays that way, the Texas economy focuses not on where we are, but where we are going. We need financial institutions and the ability for all our growing businesses to have access to capital, and that is exactly what Wells Fargo is providing.”

The new campus represents one of the largest real estate investments in Irving-Las Colinas over the past twenty years. Governor Abbott highlighted this move as an example of Texas’s efforts to become a major center for finance in the United States and noted that such partnerships can benefit both companies and local communities.

He also described Texas as a place where opportunities continue to expand for both businesses and residents. In addition, Governor Abbott thanked Wells Fargo for their recent donation aimed at helping families affected by floods during July 4th celebrations in Kerrville.

Additional photos from the event are expected to be released soon.
