Governor Greg Abbott has designated October 3-10, 2025 as Manufacturing Week in Texas, highlighting the importance of the manufacturing sector to the state’s economy and workforce.

“Thanks to our manufacturers, ‘Made in Texas’ has never been a more powerful brand,” Governor Abbott said. “It is a symbol of freedom, opportunity, and innovation that can only be found in Texas. As the manufacturing capital of the nation, Texas is where today’s products are made, and tomorrow’s technologies are brought to life. Manufacturing Week reminds us how important it is to continue strengthening our workforce by providing new career opportunities for Texans as we build a bigger and better Texas.”

Texas manufacturers contribute significantly to the state’s economy, which exceeds $2.7 trillion and ranks as the eighth largest globally. The state has recently experienced economic growth of 6.8% in the second quarter of 2025. For 23 consecutive years, Texas has led all states in exports and remains at the forefront in exporting high-tech goods and semiconductors.

Governor Abbott also recently attended an event marking Lilly’s announcement of a new active pharmaceutical ingredient production facility in Harris County, reflecting growth within Texas’ pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.

Manufacturing Week aims to showcase career opportunities available across sectors such as aerospace, pharmaceuticals, biotech, automotive, and others.
