Governor Abbott schedules special election for Texas Senate District 4

Governor Greg Abbott has announced that a special election for the Texas Senate District 4 seat will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026. The seat was recently vacated by Senator Brandon Creighton.

According to the Governor’s office, individuals interested in running for the position must submit their applications to the Secretary of State by 5:00 PM on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Early voting is scheduled to start on Monday, April 20, 2026.
