The Houston Rockets are planning a significant renovation of all suites at the Toyota Center, with an estimated cost of $24.6 million. The project details were confirmed by Ryan Walsh, CEO of the Harris County Houston Sports Authority. According to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the team will fund the entire renovation at 1510 Polk Street.

Construction is scheduled to begin in April 2026 and finish by October 2027, though these dates may change as plans progress.

This renovation reflects a broader trend among professional sports teams to invest in premium spaces that appeal to sponsors and high-income fans, helping older arenas stay competitive with newer venues.

The suite overhaul follows other recent upgrades funded by the Rockets. These include a $10.5 million replacement of all 17,000 bowl seats in the arena, switching from red to black sports-weave material while maintaining seating capacity. This seat replacement is expected to be completed by July 2026.

Other completed projects include a $7.5 million roof replacement and $22 million spent on new LED ribbon boards and a center-hung scoreboard installed for the start of the 2024 season. The updated scoreboard expanded LED surface area by 84 percent and added four underbelly screens for a more immersive experience.

Additionally, the Sire Spirits Social Club was introduced during the 2022-23 season as part of efforts to create branded and experiential spaces within sports venues.

Ryan Walsh stated: “The Rockets will cover the full cost of the work at 1510 Polk Street.”
