IAM Air Transport Territory General Vice President Richie Johnsen and other leaders recently visited IAM Union members at Alaska Airlines Cargo. During their trip, they spoke with mechanics from both Alaska and Hawaiian airlines in Seattle and Hawaii.

Johnsen addressed a major issue for these workers: an upcoming representation election between the IAM Union and the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA). This election follows the ongoing merger of Hawaiian and Alaska Airlines. In response to questions from union members, Johnsen issued a public challenge to AMFA for a debate, stating his readiness to meet “any time, any where” to discuss matters important to the workforce.
