More than 3,200 members of IAM Union District 837 at Boeing’s St. Louis defense facilities are scheduled to vote on a revised contract offer from the company this Sunday, August 3, starting at 10 a.m. Central Time. If union members reject the proposal, a strike is set to begin at midnight on Monday, August 4.

The latest offer from Boeing includes several modifications following the union’s strong rejection of an earlier proposal on July 27. Notably, Boeing has withdrawn its Alternative Workweek Schedule (AWS) proposal, meaning current overtime policies will remain in place. The new terms also add an annual $0.50 per hour pay increase for employees who have reached the maximum wage rate.

For retirement benefits, pension-eligible workers would receive a full $10 multiplier increase in the first year instead of two $5 increases over years two and three. To qualify for this benefit, employees must retire after January 1, 2026.

Other aspects of the offer—including proposed 20% wage increases over the life of the contract, a $5,000 ratification bonus, vacation and sick leave provisions, and healthcare benefits—remain unchanged from previous proposals.

IAM Union represents about 600,000 active and retired members across North America in industries such as aerospace, defense, airlines, shipbuilding, railroad transit, healthcare and automotive. More information about IAM Union can be found at https://www.goiam.org/.
