The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Retirees and Membership Assistance Department has announced an extension for the registration deadline for its upcoming Retirees Education and Strategy Program (RESP). The program is scheduled to take place at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, Maryland, from September 21 to 26, 2025.

Registrations for the RESP must now be received by Monday, August 18, 2025.

According to IAM, the RESP is designed to provide retired and nearly retired members with resources and education on issues that affect their lives. The program aims to equip participants with skills to assist other retirees seeking help in several areas. These include organizing and maintaining Retirees Clubs, developing legislative and political strategies, understanding Social Security and Medicare programs, creating action plans for Retiree Clubs, participating in Alliance for Retired Americans activities, and organizing volunteers among retired members.

Members who have questions about the program are encouraged to contact the IAM Retirees and Membership Assistance Department at 301-967-4717.
