Locals and Districts of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Midwest Territory will sponsor a “Salute to the Military” hockey game featuring the Quad City Storm on Saturday, November 8, 2025. The event will take place at Vibrant Arena in Moline, Illinois.

The IAM Union Hockey Night will include activities such as Chuck-a-Puck, a live player jersey auction, and tributes to veterans. All proceeds from the event are designated for Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines (GDA | TLC), which is a charity supported by the IAM Union.

Ahead of the game, supporters can participate in a Paint the Ice event on Monday, November 3. This activity allows individuals to have a veteran’s name painted on the ice as recognition for their service.

The sponsorship is organized by IAM Union Veteran Services and several local chapters including District 6 and Locals 1728, 1010, 388, 1191 as Goalie Sponsors. Additional support comes from Locals 254, 821, 1526, 1293, 1045, 1238, and 31 as Wingman Sponsors.

Checks supporting this initiative should be made payable to GDA with “Hockey Game” noted in the memo line and sent to IAM District 6 at their Des Moines address.
