IKEA U.S. has launched its first cross-brand retail experience by partnering with Best Buy in select stores across Texas and Florida. The initiative aims to provide customers with a more accessible and affordable way to design their living spaces.
On November 5, 2025, the IKEA South Austin at Best Buy location opened a Plan and order point at 4970 W Highway 290 in Austin, Texas. This partnership enables IKEA to offer kitchen planning services to a wider audience, while also allowing customers to integrate Best Buy appliances into their IKEA-designed kitchens.
The shop-in-shop setup features IKEA staff who assist customers in designing their spaces and shopping for appliances such as refrigerators, microwaves, ranges, dishwashers, washers, and dryers. The 1,000-square-foot showroom presents kitchen and laundry room settings meant to inspire visitors. Unlike traditional retail experiences where products are taken home immediately, this model lets customers work with an IKEA associate to plan their space before having furnishings shipped directly to their homes.
According to the companies: “This innovative shared retail experience reflects both companies’ commitment to meeting customers where they are – offering well-designed home furnishing solutions and cutting-edge appliances in one convenient, collaborative retail experience.”

Other Central Texas locations are also part of this new approach.
