The International Labor Communications Association (ILCA) will hold its biennial convention in New Orleans from November 18 to 20, 2025. The event will include community service activities, networking receptions, the ILCA awards, and a series of panels and workshops. The specific theme for this year’s convention has not yet been announced. The ILCA is an organization that supports labor communicators across North America and is affiliated with the AFL-CIO.
DeLane Adams, Assistant Communications Director at the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), serves as Secretary-Treasurer for the ILCA.
IAM’s Communications Department, along with its districts and locals, have received recognition over the years during the ILCA Labor Media Awards Contest. This contest is described as the largest and longest-running competition dedicated to labor communications in North America.
The IAM Union’s 2024 ILCA award winners include Angela Colaizzi, who received the Max Steinbock Award for “NLRB Takes Down Union Buster”; Ashley Mumford and the IAM Journal Team, who won third place for Best Print Publication for their Summer 2023 issue; and Ross Olson, who secured third place in Best Design – Single Issue Publication.
Past conventions have provided opportunities for labor communications professionals to exchange best practices with peers from across North America.
According to event organizers: “Click here to register for the ILCA Convention. You do not have to be a member to attend.”
