Dan Bellow, a prominent figure in Houston’s commercial real estate sector, will retire at the end of this year after leading JLL’s Houston office for three decades. Bellow has spent 52 years in the industry and served as president of JLL-Houston since its merger with Staubach Company in 2008.

Ronnie Deyo, who currently leads JLL’s 30-member office tenant representation team and has been with the firm for 15 years, will succeed Bellow as president starting January 1. Deyo is recognized for his role in several major corporate relocations to Houston, including those of Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Dow Chemical. He also participated in the move of Exxon-Mobil’s headquarters from Dallas-Fort Worth to Houston.

Bellow commented on his decision: “Between 52 years in the business and 30 years running the Houston region, it’s time to hand over the reins,” he said. “Ronnie was the perfect candidate to lead JLL to another level.”

Bellow and Deyo have worked together since their time at Staubach Company in the early 1990s. They were both involved when Staubach merged with JLL in 2008.

Deyo will oversee brokerage and business operations for more than 150 employees across Houston and Louisiana. Known for mentoring younger brokers, he has established himself as one of Houston’s top dealmakers.

Under Bellow’s leadership, JLL’s Houston office expanded significantly—from about 50 employees and three service lines in 2008 to more than 360 employees and a dozen business divisions today.

As artificial intelligence and data-driven analytics become more prevalent in commercial real estate, Deyo stated that JLL would continue to focus on relationships through its collaborative approach.
