IAM District 751 in Washington State has contributed $32,000 to support IAM District 837 members currently on strike against Boeing in St. Louis. The donation is intended for the District 837 strike fund and comes as negotiations between the union and Boeing continue under federal mediation.

The strike began on August 4, following a vote by IAM District 837 members after Boeing declined to negotiate a new agreement that recognizes their skills and contributions to aerospace and defense production. Since then, the strikers have received backing from various unions, public officials, and community groups.

“District 837 members are standing up for the respect and dignity every Boeing worker deserves,” said Jon Holden, President and Directing Business Representative of IAM District 751. “Our members in the Pacific Northwest know firsthand the power of solidarity. This contribution is about standing shoulder to shoulder with our union family in St. Louis. Boeing can afford to do the right thing, and it’s time they come to the table and bargain in good faith.”

Holden previously led more than 30,000 IAM members through a 53-day strike against Boeing in 2024, which resulted in significant gains for workers in Washington State. He recently joined striking workers at a rally in St. Louis to present the donation.

“Our members are proud of the work they do building critical aerospace and defense products,” said Tom Boelling, President and Directing Business Representative of IAM District 837. “We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support from District 751 and the entire IAM family. Together, we’re sending a clear message: when one of us is under attack, we all stand together.”

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) represents around 600,000 active and retired workers across North America in industries such as aerospace, defense, airlines, shipbuilding, railways, transit systems, healthcare, automotive manufacturing, among others.

Donations to support striking workers can be made through the IAM Strike Fund at goIAM.org. The fund accepts non-dues contributions from union members as well as families, friends, and supporters within organized labor.

The IAM has called on other locals and allies to contribute to help sustain those involved in ongoing contract negotiations.
