Richardson has secured the continued presence of 1Finity, a subsidiary of Japanese IT company Fujitsu, by supporting the relocation of its North American headquarters within the city. The company will move to 65,000 square feet in Galatyn Commons Office Park, consolidating its existing Richardson and Dallas offices. The move involves a 12-year lease at 2380 Performance Drive and plans for at least $13 million in improvements to accommodate approximately 500 employees.

To keep 1Finity from leaving Richardson, the City Council approved a $2.3 million retention and expansion grant last year, along with waiving $130,000 in permit fees. These incentives helped Richardson outcompete at least two other cities that were also seeking to attract the headquarters.

“Fujitsu has been in our community for nearly four decades now, so it was really meaningful as they evolved into 1Finity for us to keep them,” said City Manager Don Magner.

Galatyn Commons is recognized as one of Richardson’s main office centers, offering amenities such as a food hall, amphitheater, and conference center across its four buildings totaling 800,000 square feet. Other companies have also moved significant operations there: Halff relocated its headquarters last year with an 80,000-square-foot lease supported by incentives; CBRE established a 131,000-square-foot office in 2022; and Geico recently signed a lease for 165,000 square feet at the complex.

1Finity focuses on information and communication technology. Chief Revenue Officer Rod Naphan stated that Richardson’s reputation as a technology hub made it “the ideal setting” for the new headquarters. The company’s previous site at 2801 Telecom Parkway is set to be redeveloped by Dayton Street Partners into a large industrial facility totaling over 343,000 square feet as part of an expansion project.

In addition to these developments, AT&T recently leased space for call center expansion in Lakeside Boulevard Tower in Richardson. HOA management firm Associa also moved into a new headquarters complex this July with capacity for up to 1,000 employees.
