One of Dallas’ historic hotels, The Stoneleigh, will undergo a significant transformation as it moves from the Le Méridien brand to Marriott Bonvoy’s Autograph Collection. The change comes as part of a multimillion-dollar renovation, with plans for the property to reopen in spring next year.
Located at 2927 Maple Avenue, The Stoneleigh has been a notable presence in Uptown since 1923. With its rebranding, it will join other North Texas Autograph Collection properties such as Hotel Drover and The Sinclair in Fort Worth, and the soon-to-open HALL Park Hotel in Frisco.
Brookfield Real Estate Group owns the hotel and has appointed chef Michael White, a James Beard Award winner, to oversee its new culinary program. Design studio Fettle is leading the renovations, which aim to blend elements of old Hollywood style with modern design influences inspired by Dorothy Draper. The updated interiors are intended to reflect The Stoneleigh’s Jazz Age heritage.
Renovation plans include updates to the pool and terrace area, creation of a new fitness center, and programming designed to restore the hotel’s role as a cultural venue featuring live music and curated events. According to a permit filed with Texas authorities in May, $2.725 million has been allocated for work on public spaces on the basement and first floor; however, these figures are preliminary and may change as additional permits are filed.
The Stoneleigh opened just ten years after The Adolphus and is recognized as Dallas’ second-oldest hotel. Its ongoing restoration aligns with broader trends in Dallas’ hospitality industry where established hotels are being renovated to attract guests interested in distinctive local experiences rather than standardized offerings.
“Plans also call for a reimagined pool and terrace, a new fitness center, and programming aimed at reviving the hotel’s role as a cultural hub with live music, curated events and culinary pop-ups.”
