TCEQ approves more than $747K in fines for environmental violations

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has approved penalties amounting to $611,344 against 27 regulated entities for violating state environmental regulations. The commission’s actions cover a range of enforcement categories, including 12 air quality cases, one Edwards Aquifer case, one industrial wastewater discharge case, one multi-media case, one municipal solid waste case, four municipal wastewater discharges, two public water systems cases, and five water quality cases.

Additionally, on January 27, the TCEQ executive director authorized further penalties totaling $135,720 against 36 entities.

The TCEQ stated: “Agreed orders were issued for the following enforcement categories: 12 air quality, one Edwards Aquifer, one industrial wastewater discharge, one multi-media, one municipal solid waste, four municipal wastewater discharges, two public water systems, and five water quality.”
