TCEQ approves over $570,000 in penalties for environmental violations

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has approved penalties amounting to $457,872 against 13 entities for violations of state environmental regulations. The enforcement actions cover several categories, including air quality, industrial and municipal wastewater discharge, petroleum storage tanks, public water systems, and water quality.

The commission issued agreed orders for four air quality cases, one industrial wastewater discharge case, two municipal wastewater discharge cases, one petroleum storage tank case, one public water system case, and two water quality cases. Additionally, default orders were issued in the multi-media and petroleum storage tank categories.

TCEQ’s executive director also approved penalties totaling $115,746 against 36 entities on September 30 and October 7, 2025.
