The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has approved penalties amounting to $730,403 against 28 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations. The enforcement actions covered a range of categories, including six related to air quality, one concerning the Edwards Aquifer, three involving industrial wastewater discharges, one multi-media violation, two municipal wastewater discharges, one petroleum storage tank case, eight public water systems cases, and one water quality case.
In addition to these agreed orders, default orders were issued in several categories: two multi-media violations, one municipal wastewater discharge case, and two public water system cases.
The TCEQ executive director also approved penalties totaling $107,083 against 31 entities on September 16 and September 23.
