Potential homebuyers in Texas who are uncertain about qualifying for a mortgage loan can now use the TDHCA Homebuyer Program’s Quick Check Eligibility Tool. This free online tool helps users assess whether their credit history, income, and savings meet the requirements for down payment assistance and affordable mortgage loans.

The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) provides this program through a network of approved mortgage lenders. The assistance offered can help buyers cover down payments and closing costs, potentially making homeownership more accessible to those with limited resources.

After using the Quick Check Eligibility Tool, individuals are connected to an approved lender who can guide them through available mortgage options and assist with necessary costs related to purchasing a home. Additional information about the program is available at WelcomeHome.texas.gov.

“Sign up to get news of our program releases, how to apply for assistance, and other news,” the agency states.
