The most expensive homes listed in Texas during October reached a combined total of more than $236 million, according to data from the Houston Association of Realtors. This marks the highest top-10 listing sum for any month this year, narrowly surpassing March’s total of $234 million.
Among the notable properties is the Preston Hollow home of late oil tycoon Cary Maquire at 4606 Park Lane, which was relisted for $28.5 million after being on the market last month.
A newly built mansion by former Google director Jon Venverloh is also featured among the top listings. The 10,500-square-foot property at 6901 Hunters Glen Road in University Park is priced at $26 million, or $2,500 per square foot. Developed by Venus Development Group, which Venverloh started before retiring from Google in 2019, the home includes an almost one-acre lot, an infinity-edge pool, and a reclaimed tile roof. Chad Barrett with Allie Beth Allman holds the listing.
Dallas businessman Larry Lacerte, founder of ExponentHR, has listed his Highland Park residence at 3711 Lexington Avenue for $35 million ($1,708 per square foot). The 20,500-square-foot property features a guest apartment and a fitness center with a natatorium. The home was previously listed in March for $35.6 million and is represented by Ralph Randall with Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Real Estate.
Bob Carter, founder of Panda Biotech, is asking $12.9 million for his six-bedroom home at 10617 Bridge Hollow Court in Preston Hollow. The 14,700-square-foot house is priced at $880 per square foot and includes ten bathrooms. Julie Provenanzo with Compass Real Estate manages this listing; it was briefly available in September for the same price before being removed.
The most expensive listing this month is Colleen Romanov’s estate in Houston at 107 Timberwilde Lane. The 22,000-square-foot property sits on nine acres near Buffalo Bayou and is modeled after English estates and Hearst Castle in California. It carries an asking price of $60 million ($2,727 per square foot). Coldwell Banker’s Carol Wolfe represents the listing. The estate was initially listed in 2022 for $60 million; its price increased to $65 million in 2023 before dropping to $50 million prior to delisting.
