Texas Mutual Insurance Company has distributed more than $9 million in grants to 124 nonprofit organizations across Texas this year. The funding was provided through two Request for Proposal initiatives aimed at supporting community programs.

The first grant cycle focused on generational learning, awarding over $4.5 million to 66 organizations. These grants supported efforts to improve health and wellness for Texas employees and their families, strengthen early childhood education systems, and provide comprehensive support services for families.

Among the recipients of these grants are eight Austin-based nonprofits: Andy Roddick Foundation, Any Baby Can, AVANCE-Austin, CASA of Travis County, Communities in Schools of Central Texas, EGBI, half Helen, and Saint Louise House.

The second round of funding targeted workforce development and safety training. This initiative invested in organizations that train workers in safe practices—particularly in high-risk industries—create pathways to middle-skill jobs, and offer upskilling opportunities through earn-and-learn programs.

Seven Austin nonprofits received grants under this cycle: The Arc of the Capital Area, Austin Ed Fund, Easterseals Lonestar, Good Work Austin, Goodwill Central Texas, Literacy Coalition of Central Texas, and Skillpoint Alliance.

“In both grant cycles, applications were reviewed by Texas Mutual employee volunteers who looked for proposals that align with our mission of building a stronger, safer, more resilient Texas. Our community affairs team also works hard to ensure that funding is distributed throughout the state.”

“We’re honored to be partnering with inspiring nonprofits in Austin and throughout the state to create a brighter future in the communities we call home.”
