Texas has been recognized as having the top business climate in the United States for the third consecutive year, according to Site Selection magazine. Governor Greg Abbott commented on the achievement, stating, “Texas once again emerges as the national champion for the top business climate in America. As the eighth-largest economy in the world, Texas offers the freedom and opportunity for companies of all sizes and all industries to thrive. Coupled with the pro-growth, pro-business laws I signed this year, Texas improved the process of doing business to help them succeed in our great state. We will continue to make strategic investments and partner with job-creating businesses to ensure that Texas remains the top state in the nation to do business.”

The ranking by Site Selection is based on several factors including corporate relocation and expansion projects, a business-friendly environment, workforce development initiatives, infrastructure investment, access to technology and skilled workers, and stable regulations.

A survey conducted among corporate real estate executives and site selectors was also an important component of Site Selection’s assessment. In this survey, Texas outperformed all other states.

Earlier this year, Governor Abbott received Site Selection’s Governor’s Cup on behalf of Texas for a thirteenth consecutive time. This award recognizes states with strong records in attracting job-creating relocations and expansions. Additionally, Texas secured Site Selection’s 2025 Prosperity Cup as recognition for being a leading destination for new business investments.
