Actor Trevante Rhodes, known for his performances in “Bird Box,” “The Predator,” and the Academy Award-winning film “Moonlight,” has sold his waterfront property near Austin. Public records confirm that Rhodes sold the home at 3719 Bee Creek Road in Spicewood to an LLC connected to Dallas-based New Western, a real estate investment platform led by Kurt Carlton.

Details of the sale price have not been disclosed. The property’s last recorded public sale occurred in 2016. Records show that Rhodes purchased the 2.4-acre riverfront site in 2022 when it was listed for $1.5 million. Travis County values the land at $1.1 million and the house, which is about 2,600 square feet with three bedrooms and three bathrooms, at $700,000.

The location on a branch of the Colorado River makes the property attractive for potential luxury redevelopment. Riverfront properties are prominent in Austin’s high-end real estate market; one notable sale in 2025 involved a nearby estate listed for $16.9 million.

Rhodes acquired the property during Austin’s tech-driven real estate surge. However, recent data from Zillow shows that Austin has experienced a significant decline in home values since its peak in 2022, leading U.S. cities with populations over one million in median price drops during the third quarter year-over-year. While national median home prices rose by nearly five percent to $375,000, prices in the Austin-Round Rock area decreased by over eight percent to $416,000.

Other celebrities have also recently sold homes in Austin; Emma Stone sold her Tarrytown mansion last month after listing it for $23.5 million.
