The U.S. Census Bureau has published the latest Business Formation Statistics (BFS) for July 2025. These statistics provide updated information on new business applications and formations across the United States.

The BFS is a recurring data product from the Census Bureau, developed in collaboration with economists from the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, the University of Maryland, and the University of Notre Dame. The dataset is released monthly and covers national, regional, and state-level statistics. It includes both seasonally adjusted and nonseasonally adjusted data.

Alongside this release, the Census Bureau has also issued Monthly Puerto Rico Business Applications. This experimental product tracks four monthly business application series for Puerto Rico using the same methodology as used for other BFS data.

No formal news release accompanied this announcement; only a tip sheet was provided.
