The Winpisinger Center has announced the start of its Online Steward Training program, set to begin on October 1. The initiative aims to provide essential training for new shop stewards who are unable to attend in-person sessions at the center.

“This initiative is another step forward in expanding our members’ access to quality union education, no matter where they live or work,” said Winpisinger Center Director Mary McHugh.

The training is available to all members in good standing who serve as stewards. It will run over three consecutive weeks, with each session lasting two hours and covering two topics. To accommodate varying schedules, sessions will be offered three times per week.

The first week focuses on the role of the steward and their rights and responsibilities. The second week addresses grievances and investigations, while the third covers just cause and discipline cases as well as contract cases and past practice.

Members interested in participating can self-register for the Online Steward Training through the provided registration link or by using links referenced above. For additional questions, participants are encouraged to contact the Winpisinger Center via an online form.
